Recently we visited the construction site of a residential home which was nearing completion. Cat6 data cables had been installed throughout the property for TV network points, Wireless Access Points, PC points and Telephone points but no one on-site knew how to terminate the cables. Our expert data cable engineers were called in to finish the job.
We started by tackling the coils of cable which had been pulled to a central place in the utility room. To do this we toned out each cable, identifying the locations of all the cables to plan the network. We then fitted a data rack and terminated all the cabling onto Cat6 patch panels. We also terminated the remote ends onto Cat6 modules and finished them by fitting faceplates. Each module was labelled up individually to identify its location in the data rack.
